traveling with babies and toddlers 0

Posted on July 30, 2008 by dorisch

I’ve never had issues traveling with a baby only because I make sure I’m well prepared for the trip. A friend of mine is already planning on the ‘logistics’ even though she’ll be traveling with her baby in three months’ time. The thing about traveling with babies or toddlers is that you need to expect the unexpected.

After a long drive, a nice, quiet night in a hotel room sounds perfect. Unfortunately, after that long drive, the toddlers might not see it the same way. If parents don’t want to wake up in a room filled with shocks, a bit of baby-proofing might be in order before settling down to sleep. Don’t worry, you won’t need to bring any air tools to fix up any non baby friendly features in the room. All it takes is a little efforts to look out for potential spills, hiccups and frustration causes.

First, take anything that can be opened and sprayed or spilled, like the tiny hotel soaps and shampoos, and move it out of reach. You might leave the bar soaps as a distraction, since a couple of scattered soap bars are a cinch to pick up compared to finger-painting in conditioner. Likewise, move any toxic or messy substances you brought with you out of reach, as well. I would like to believe that’s sheer common sense :P Check the dresser drawers, too, for things left in the room that could be torn up, or for helpful items like pens and notepads that could be used for redecorating. You don’t want to receive a call from the hotel for any ‘redecorating’ incidentals, do you? Book your Travel on Black Friday to complete your holiday shopping in person. do people still travel this summer? 1

Posted on July 16, 2008 by dorisch

When times are bad, do people still travel? Yes and no. Travel may continue but travelers may choose destinations that cost less. Some go to the extreme of spending big budgets on their travel plans first and then face the risk of mortgage lenders knocking on their doors. Air travel may be minimize when economy is rocky and people will resort to domestic travel or perhaps a short break to a nearby city or break. But there are also those who are not affected by bad times and will continue to splurge on luxury and ultimate comforts.

a career that travels 0

I’ve always been told that one of the careers that allow you to fly while you work is being a flight attendant. Looking back, I remember how I used to crave for a flying career since the travel bug was already birthed within me at a young age. The free spirited personality in me longs for space and a career that takes me places but like many others, this dream didn’t come true for several reasons. If only we had the web in those days to find our desired jobs by posting Atlanta resumes if you are in planning to settle in Atlanta and New York resumes if the big apple is what you desired. But some people would prefer a pure travel vacation compared to a vacation mixed with work and play.
