Being Single Isn’t a Bad Thing Comments Off on Being Single Isn’t a Bad Thing

The travel bug is talking to me again and I’m searching the website to decide where is my next travel destination.

I was taking some time to look through some of my travel photos and I find myself missing so many places. From Hawaii to Japan to New Zealand, I would love to visit some of these places again. My brother in law who is single is a travel freak and he just enjoying taking single holidays. Recently, he took his scuba diving PADI license in East Malaysia and since, he’s been traveling singly to some of the fabulous diving sites. Though I’m not a diver, I enjoy snorkeling and I wish to revisit Perhentian or Redang beaches again.

My brother in law loves to find his travel ideas online and he loves searching for information at websites that feature single holidays. With so many websites in the worldwide web, it’s great to know that there is a dedicated website for singles and along with it, you can get into the community and network with other singles in other parts of the world. Besides that, you can search for promotional deals on flights and hotels and if that’s not enough, you can ask a fellow traveler if you need further help.

I can’t tell you how easy it is to find travel information online with today’s technology. Sometimes, I wonder what would life be like if I’m single again!

Camping in the Cold! Comments Off on Camping in the Cold!

Posted on June 25, 2011 by dorisch

Holidays is here and I’m sitting down cracking my head how I can keep my little one occupied.

Many of my friends are going somewhere and some are staying back. It’s hard to travel when the weather is turning cold unless you are well equipped with the right attire. I have some friends in the commercial playground equipment industry and they are planning to go camping! I thought that is a very bold plan! Camping in the cold is not something I’m good at and I am putting it off till spring is here!

No Cheap Accommodation Rates at Hervey Comments Off on No Cheap Accommodation Rates at Hervey

This morning, a friend of ours is asking if we would like to take a trip to Hervey Bay during the mid year school holidays.

I thought it would be fun though I know that it might not be possible to secure cheap accommodation rates during this holiday period. I heard much about the beauty of that region and I’m sure hubby’s steiner binoculars can be put into good use if we go for the trip. It’s the whale watching season again and the kids should be very excited to head out there. I’m not too sure if the weather is going to be cold but with Queensland’s sunshine, it should be nice and cool.

Technology Makes Traveling Easier 0

Today’s advanced technology had provided business people more flexibility when they travel. Other than searching for cheap accommodation rates online, they can now do their work when they are traveling.

Just a quick Conference call and they can connect to their office staff and management without worrying about being reached. Though there are different time zones, they can still communicate cheaply with technological devices without paying too much for the phone bills. I can see that many travelers move around with laptops and netbooks and with today’s advanced smartphones, you can check your email, talk to an overseas friend or do your research at the touch of few buttons. It’s amazing that we are living at such exciting times!

Tips to Curb Motion Sickness 0

Posted on February 26, 2011 by dorisch

By car, boat, plane, or otherwise, motion sickness commonly effects many people, particularly children. This can easily make the ‘traveling’ portion of your experience absolutely no fun. Enter Peppermint essential oil.

Peppermint has long been used to calm uneasy stomachs, and is easily used. One drop (it is strong!) in a cup of warm water, sweetened if you like, can be sipped before and during the voyage. For the fussy ones, a drop can be added to a small amount of honey and taken from a spoon for the same effect.

Ginger essential oil is also known for it’s calming of upset stomachs – a little inhaled from a tissue or diluted in a carrier oil and rubbed on the abdomen can bring relief. One can also add a drop of ginger to warm water and drink as a strong tea – this may be effective for some food-related stomach issues as well, particularly when combined with the abdomen massage method. I was told that some traditional weight loss pills contain some ginger ingredients too.

Peppermint can also be uplifting to the weary driver or passenger – a drop or two placed on tissues in the car or near your seat will release the aroma into your surroundings. Be careful with this oil however, as getting it on sensitive areas of the skin (directly under the nose, and certainly near the eyes) can cause irritation. Tissues with the oil on it should not touch these areas directly.

Lose Weight As You Travel 0

While flipping through some of the health and natural beauty magazines, I notice a trend among those who want to lose weight. It’s a trend to actually travel, stay in a resort and lose weight under a special supervised diet.

In the marketplace, there are those who search around for safest diet pills that work but it’s not easy to decide which one works best. As such, some may need guidance and special instruction under an experienced health professional in the dieting process. With proper guidance, it’s possible to lose weight if you can’t afford those stay in diet vacations. Detox camps are very popular now and it makes sense to check yourself in if you have no discipline to lose weight on your own.

Weddings and Travel 0

It’s been a popular trend that wedding couples travel for their weddings. I have a friend who specializes in organizing weddings in Bali and she often shares her exciting tales with me about those exotic weddings.

Many hotels in Bali offer : all inclusive wedding packages that entice wedding couples and I must say that it’s a romantic package for many. I mean, it’s so romantic to tie the knot with the ocean by your footsteps and most of all, to have your close family and friends celebrating the occasion with you. It must be a memorable one too.

Bali weddings can be nice but if that’s too far for you, then check out the local beaches and see if you can host it in one of the waterfront restaurants and cafe. I think that’s equally nice.

Looking Forward to Sunny Days 0

It’s summer in Brisbane now and the nickname of being a sunshine state had recently been tarnished by a furious flood in the city and surroundings.

As Brisbane begins its recovery efforts, the sun is shining again and it speaks hope for many residents here. In a few months’ time, it will be : electric blanket time and winter will be here. It will be our first winter down under and I hope that the cold won’t be too drastic for us. Settling down in Brisbane is easy with the acceptable climate that is contrasting to Melbourne’s. It’s nice on a sunny day and a little humid on some evenings. But on the overall, it’s comfortable and enjoyable.

I look forward to hanging out on the beaches once the flood crisis is over. It will take the recovery team a while to put things together again. Meantime the spirit of the queen slanders appear strong.

Arrived in Brisbane 0

After a long search in the internet, I had chosen to stay in this serviced apartment called The Docks at Goodwin.

It was easy finding the place though we arrived quite late at night. The reception was closed by the time we arrived but we managed to get in without any hitches. There is a pool and gym in the vicinity though I haven’t had the chance to check it out. Since it’s a small gym, I don’t suppose there is any pull up bar but a few threadmills should do the job for a small place. The location is perfect with the ferry just 400m from the building so it’s very easy to get to the city. If time is on your side and you aren’t in a hurry, catching a ferry to the city in Brisbane can be a lot of fun.

A Shopping Trip In London 0

Everyone of us has a desired country that we want to visit un our lifetime and it will differ according to what we prefer.

For me, I hope to go to europe someday and i wish for it to be a long one. I heard so much about London and I’m hoping to travel to milan for some good shopping one day. Every single one of my girlfriend who went to London or milan will come back with at least one branded bag. And i did hear that the price is real good compared to asia or anywhere in the world.

I believe walking will be s great replacement for the best weight loss pills if i go on a shopping trip as i will be walking all day! I would better make sure I strengthen my legs should i make a trip like this!
