I just got back from a short trip to Singapore and this is one of the more tiring trips I have had. There were so many errands to run throughout the trip and I didn’t have much time to do my regular shopping.

Whenever I’m in Singapore, I’m be in a shopping spree for vitamins and beauty products. I still find that it’s a good place to stock up my vitamins and I got hold of my supply of propolis and children’s natural cough remedies. I often purchase some multiple vitamins from the pharmacies when there is a sale and it makes it quite a good buy too. I’ll be back in six weeks for some personal matters so I’ll the opportunity to stock more.

For those who are heading Singapore, the great Singapore Sale is on and this is your chance to grab some good deals.

Finding a hotel in Singapore is so easy and convenient these days. What more, you can search for best accommodation deals with no hassle with the help of the internet.

I was checking out some Singapore hotels who are offering cheap accommodation rates after reading that many hotels are offering free night stay during the Great Singapore Sale. Some of the good and affordable hotels to stay in Singapore include Grand Park City Hall, Elizabeth Hotel, Marina Mandarin, Orchard Hotel and Citadines Apartments at Wilkie Road, to name a few. Personally, I like the ideal location of Fairmont Hotel and Swissotel but it can be a little pricey. For good location and better affordability, Carlton Hotel is a good choice. Even though some travelers’ reviews aren’t so favourable, I haven’t had any issues with this hotel after staying there for a few occasions. Plus, the Chinese restaurant serves good tim sum.

In Singapore, it is easy to travel around with the efficient public transport and with the additional walking, you can put your Atrophex to work! So if you are thinking of a shop til you drop kind of vacation, head down to Singapore this summer and grab the best accommodation deals online. Compare hotels at SearchYourHotel.com

I was pleasantly surprised to read that hotels in Singapore are offering special deals during the Great Singapore Sale. From what I read, you can get best accommodation deals such as getting a free night stay in selected hotels. This is not only good news for travelers but for the locals who have no plans to travel overseas.

After a few days’ break in Singapore, I feel so refreshed. I had a good time shopping even though I wished I had more time! Whenever I’m in Singapore, time seems to fly pass so fast. Many retailers are offering good discounts and if you are feeling the credit crunch during this economic crisis, this is a good time to save on your purchases. Though some retail shops are only offering low discounts, you can expand your options and shop in places with real bargains. Grabbing off season clothing will help to save some bucks too.

Whether it’s buying Mp3 players or a spa package, taking a trip to Singapore during the Great Singapore Sale is a good time. What more, you can get the best accommodation deals in some 5 star hotels!

Cheap Accommodation rates in Singapore 0

Looking for nice and cheap accommodation hotels can be tough when you are traveling to cities like Singapore and Hong Kong. Most of the time, cheap hotels are dodgy, filthy, far from the city and have poor facilities.

When we were in Hong Kong last year, it was hard finding cheap accommodation that were nice and well located. Being a city with the scarcity of land, most Hong Kong hotels are small in space and can get expensive during peak seasons. Finally we settled for Lanson Place and I fell in love with the apartment hotel and location – awesome place.

Now, if you are traveling to Singapore and would like a nice, decent and clean accommodation to sleep for a night or two, you may want to check out Hangout @ Mt Emily. Situated in Mt Emily, about 10 minutes leisure walk to the Dhoby Ghaut train station, this is a beautiful and chic hotel that offers cheap accommodation rates. Dormitory rates start from S$34 which includes a basic breakfast. I mean, if you have been to Singapore, you know that an accommodation iat the edge of the city would have cost more. With all the basic facilities, this place caters to all the needs of a traveler.

I’m definitely going to recommend to a friend in the debt consolidation business who is searching for cheap accommodation rates in Singapore. With turbulent times like these, staying in a chic hotel like this is truly a gem find. Otherwise, you can compare hotels and search out more great places to stay in Singapore.

singapore – a great shopping destination 0

Singapore has always been one of my favourite destination for food and shopping. Though I am born and bred here, I’m not saying this out of biasness. After shopping in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan and Shanghai, Singapore still remains my favourite shopping stop since all the retail stores and concept shops are located close to each other.

Branded concept stores have sprung up everywhere in Orchard road and the town area. Whether you are shopping for a Prada handbag, La Mer skin care, the latest iPhone 3G or weight loss pill for your waistline, Singapore is a great place where you can shop and compare. Being a multi racial society, it is easy to converse with the locals and receive any shopping help or tips if you need any guidance. What’s cool about shopping in Singapore is that the retail stores have long opening hours from 10am – 10pm (most shops) and it’s safe to be shopping late too!

This weekend, I’m off to Singapore for a short break with my family. My son is more excited than us since he gets to visit his favourite play centre and ride in the coach.

Traveling with a toddler has been a common affair for our household. To ease the travel itinerary and to avoid any frustration, I prefer to pack early with my son’s personal belongings as top priority. As a mom, you pack not only for yourself but your child and everyone else in the home. Other than my digital SLR battery charger, phone charger and personal toiletries, my acne cream and health supplements stay top of the list. All our travel documents will be safely placed in my bag the night before our coach trip.

Coming back to my hometown brings alot of comfort to my soul. Though I still face the stresses of family matters, it feels nice to step out of a foreign country and be back to where I used to belong.

how things changed in Singapore 0

Well, it’s been 6 years since I packed my bags and move to Kuala Lumpur.

Though I travel home every now and then, it’s hard to keep myself abreast with the rapid changes in this fast moving city.

Over the years, I have noticed not just changes in property developments but people’s lifestyle and behaviour patterns. This is just part and parcel of an affluent and urban city. Read the rest of this entry →
