Getting Covered Comments Off on Getting Covered

Posted on July 27, 2011 by dorisch

I just came home from a chiropractic treatment and I pray that I’m getting a relief from now on.

As one hits the age of 40, I realized that the body condition changes along with it. I’m not as agile as before and I don’t seem to discharge stress or tension that well. These days, people are talking about dealing with social security disability and stuff like that. It’s just good to know that they exist as you don’t know when you need it. It’s the same with health insurance, you end up paying through your nose if you are not covered with any form of health funds.

A Holiday After a Holiday Comments Off on A Holiday After a Holiday

What I need is a vacation where I can stay away from the city sights and relax under the great outdoors!

The problem with taking a vacation in a city is that I tend to develop dark circles under eyes. The late nights and tiring walks can drain me out and I find myself needing a holiday after a holiday – what an irony! So this year, I long to go for one of those holidays where I come back feeling refreshed and renewed. That, to me, is a real holiday! But a mix of both shopping and relaxation is better anytime!

Re-entering the Workforce Comments Off on Re-entering the Workforce

More and more moms I knew are reentering workforce again and I believe it’s not a bad thing.

A Friend of mine has been taking some business courses so that she can do some casual or part time work when her kids are in school. There are many occupations that are in high demand and one of them would be the possession of teaching degrees. My friend is almost finishing her nursing course study and she’s going to be a nurse in months to come. I’m thinking of taking up some courses so that I can enrich myself and re-enter the workforce when the need arises.

Exercise is Important Comments Off on Exercise is Important

After so many years in the health industry, I’ve always like the birth of natural products in the marketplace. It is refreshing to see new things and more than that, it’s encouraging to see that many people are supporting the fairtrade movement.

I have been ordering lots of health stuff online and lately, I was told to check out african mango extract which can actually help with weight loss. Though I’m in no need to lose any weight, I’m hoping to keep trimmed and stay as fit as I can as I move into the later years. My husband always reminds me that the one who doesn’t exercises will lose out…. that sounds kind of serious but I do agree with him!

Planning for Year End Vacation 0

Posted on July 26, 2010 by dorisch

I was chatting with my cousin on msn and learned that she’s heading for Melbourne this Friday with her family and few friends. She was sharing about the best accommodation deals from the tours she booked and what they would be doing throughout the 8 days.

As everyone starts to plan for year end vacations, I’m hoping that there are more airfare promotional deals out there. As air travel increases, airfares are rising and this isn’t good news for consumers. Compared to last year, airfares are dearer now unless there are promotions. I was just wondering what I would do for Christmas this year. It may be too soon to plan cos the Christmas cards aren’t even out on the shelves! With online cards these days, more people are turning to cardless greetings.

Maybe we’ll spend some nights in Gold Coast when everything is settled. Otherwise, there is always other beaches to visit before school begins for my little boy.

No More Taipei Trip 0

Posted on July 26, 2010 by dorisch

It was disappointing that my mom had disagreed to our family trip in September. I was searching high and low for cheap accommodation rates in the web and now, all the plans are shelved.

These days, travelers are more particular about choosing their desired accommodation. They prefer a modern hotel with good amenities, contemporary furniture, ideal location and attractive pricing. Expectations of travelers are rising so hoteliers and service providers would need to raise their service standards as well.

Since mom had rejected the trip, I may look for some alternatives for a family vacation. Hong Kong, Club Med bintan or perhaps even Sentosa – these are possible options to consider.

Vacations Coming Soon 0

I can’t wait for all my short getaways this year. It took me quite a while to search for cheap accommodation rates and finally, all bookings were done.

These days, hubby and myself will always travel with our laptop since we need to reply emails and follow up on our online business while we are on trips. There are pros and cons to working from home and this is one of them. We can work anywhere but we need to bring the laptop with us and make sure there is an internet connection. Maybe I should get one of those netbooks so that my luggage won’t be that heavy.

With summer knocking at our doors, more people will be traveling and I believe the air will be a busy place!

can’t wait for down under 0

Whenever I’m back in down under, I’ll spend hours in pharmacies and health stores, checking out their organic products, skincare and natural foods. Australia has lots to offer when it comes to organic skincare and treatment including those for acne treatment or problematic skin. I would usually stock up my luggage with a few months’ supply since they are cheaper than the stores in Asia. I’m now hoping to take a vacation to Gold Coast or Sydney this year. It always feels like home to be back in Australia and I can’t wait to be back again.

the wonderful ports of call 0

I’ve been telling all my friends about the great cruising experience we had with the Norwegian Cruise Line since we returned. Opposed to lots of critics and negative remarks, we thought the Pride of America was a wonderful cruise liner to sail with. We enjoyed the itinerary and various ports of call, the food, service and facilities. One of my favourite things was to wake up in the morning and sit at the balcony whiling enjoying some ocean breeze.

Of all the ports of call, I enjoyed Kona and Maui though Kauai was nice too. Hilo was abit gloomy that day and we didn’t catch any rainbows at the falls. Kona is a nice village to walk around and spend a lazy afternoon with lots of surf shops ready to entice the ardent shoppers.

Here are some of the photos taken in the cruise ship and various ports of call… you can see that our little three year old was having a real good time!

vacation updates on the road 0

Well, it hasn’t been easy blogging when you are on the road, especially if you are moving about with a little child. It has been two weeks since we left for our vacation and we’ve been moving about in Hawaii in Waikiki, The Big Island, Maui and Kauai. Read the rest of this entry →
