online technology is changing things

miscellaneous July 4th, 2008

According to a friend, the beauty and cosmetology industry is growing in a fast pace in the last few years. People are traveling for cosmetic surgeries, beauty services, specialized therapies, facial treatments…etc. With all the new emergence of technology and beauty science, there is a call for more jobs in the beauty industry. Just like how the online technology has improved the travel industry in leaps and bounds, it has advanced the beauty industry to a greater level by offering community networking among students and beauty industry leaders. The online discussion boards of these specialized industries have opened up more business opportunities for those seeking for business partners around the globe.

my late posting

miscellaneous June 26th, 2008

Oh dear, I didn’t even know that my last post was more than a week ago! Blame it on my work load and the upcoming programs in July and August, plus the political and economic stability at this moment. I need to work harder so that we can have a stress-free and enjoyable year end vacation in November.

Though we are still set to visit Tokyo and possibly Sapporo, I still can’t get my mind off the beaches and familiar places in down under. I really miss Australia :( Perhaps I should check out my life insurance rates to find out if there is any premium added for my account. Australia or Japan - I guess it doesn’t matter - as long as I get to go out and breathe some ‘fresh’ air. I know Tokyo’s air probably won’t be that fresh but a trip to hot springs destination, Hakone should put that into perspective.

travel gadgets store

miscellaneous June 14th, 2008

I like walking into a travel gadgets store. No matter how many times I visit a travel gadgets store, I am bound to discover something creative and unique. It’s amazing how people can think of all the cool gadgets for travelers. Whether you are looking for a lightweight case for your notebook computer or a handy sleeping bag for your camping needs, a good travel gadgets store will offer lots of choices and ideas.

Couple of years ago, I bought some disposable toilet seat covers and disposable plastic tablemats when we were traveling with our baby. Being our first trip with a baby, we needed to be equip with compact, lightweight and portable stuff for the family vacation. In another month or so, I would be dropping by the travel gadgets store again before heading for our tokyo trip. This time, I’m thinking of getting a water bottle with a built-in filter :)

old hotel accommodation can cause problems to allergy sufferers

miscellaneous June 1st, 2008

Since I have a sensitive nose to dust and dust mites, I’m particularly careful when sleeping in any accommodation that is old when I travel. Somehow, old bed and breakfasts, hotels and motels tend to have mildew problems and that can be a hassle for allergy sufferers. This is the time where I wish that I could shop for portable Ebac dehumidifiers so that I don’t have to worry about my nose sensitivities. Otherwise, I will make sure that the hotel accommodation isn’t one that is too old and that it is a non-smoking room. For any worse scenarios, I may even get a portable air purifier when I’m traveling!

travel and sports and luxury

miscellaneous May 15th, 2008

I suppose it has been a popular trend for watchmakers especially luxury ones to use famous sports figures to endorse their labels. This is often represented by the sports personnel golfing somewhere in a luxury resort or playing water sports in a popular destination. Luxury watchmaker companies are targeting the savvy and business travelers, along with those who enjoy the fine quality of travel and life. Whether it’s Omega, Rolex or Tag Heur, you tend to spot a sportsman with these labels.

One thing I can’t leave home without when I travel - other than my credit cards, cell phone and all the necessary personal stuff is my faithful watch. Well, like many travelers, I do enjoy quality and luxury timepieces and yes, I have also heard about the panerai. I saw that in magazines and in websites like ViaLuxe which provides detailed and comprehensive information on luxury watches including labels like Cartier, Bvlgari, Concord, Corum, Raymond Weil and alot more! The site helps to provide useful information to consumers and showing them where to make reliable purchases.

international flight jitteries

miscellaneous May 2nd, 2008

Many travelers are nervous about flying, all on its own, however, others display a wide array of emotions for other reasons. One of those reasons is dissatisfaction. On international flights, like all other flights, you will find that your actions are limited in the air. There are only certain times when you can remove your seatbelts, use the bathroom, or use your electronic equipment. If these times do not meet with your schedule, you are advised to just deal with it. Becoming upset or hysterical will not accomplish anything for you; expect for maybe a date with local authorities at your next stop.

when emergency strikes

miscellaneous April 25th, 2008

I know it may sound paranoid to mention this but if you believe in travel and medical insurance matters, then you should also consider getting a medical bracelet. Basically, a medical bracelet contains all your personal particulars which may come in handy during emergencies. You never know how much these personal info can mean when something unfortunate happens. You can list down your blood type, important contact and personal ID so that the medical professionals can get accessed to your health data as quickly as possible.

Shopping for a luggage also means you don’t need to handle the bulky luggage in the mall and what more, you can book your airline ticket online too. Many people have familiarize themselves with online banking, auto insurance online and online bills payment. When we were traveling to NZ and Australia, we booked our activities online weeks before our arrival. what do you travel for?

miscellaneous April 16th, 2008

Different people travel for various purposes. For many, it would be just a vacation to relax and recharge after a time of busyness and stress. Some ladies I know travel in luxury for shopping and indulgence, spending their retirement years in the best ways they can afford. I was told by my aunty that her girlfriend would travel to shop for the best in everything including finding the best wrinkle cream to combat her laughing lines and crow’s feet. If I tell hubby this, he would probably frown in disbelief but well, that’s what people truly do. You don’t even need to be Jennifer Lopez or Britney Spears to do that anymore. Luxury and pleasure travel is everywhere now. What do you travel for?

importance of pure water

miscellaneous April 8th, 2008

Even though I love traveling and don’t mind roughing it out, I’m super particular about drinking the ‘right’ water no matter where I’m off to. I recalled having a bad throat and losing my voice suddenly when I took a holiday to Melbourne few years ago. I could only suspect that the hard water I was drinking had caused me to fall sick with no realm or reason. Since, I make it a point to drink pure bottled water and not water from the tap, even if it’s been boiled. Read the rest of this entry »
