In the last few months, I’ve been planning on taking my mom for a vacation to Taipei in September but it’s been challenging getting her to agree to it. I took all the trouble to find the best accommodation rates and airfares but she’s still very negative with air travel.
Taipei is a great place for her as she can speak Mandarin. Moreover she’s never been there. When I was in Taipei a year ago, I enjoyed shopping in the night markets and my only regret was, I didn’t get myself a pair of affordable boots. Sports shoes are cheaper in Taipei and there is no lack in the variety of designs. I bought a pair of sports shoes for Clayton and a pair of Birkenstocks for myself.
Well, I am hoping to shop for some new shoes for my boy again and maybe, I’ll get myself another pair of these great German slippers. They can be addictive cos they are so comfortable to wear and walk with. But now, I would need to convince my mom to agree to the vacation before the ticket prices increase.
There are many beach destinations in the world that I really love to visit someday. But some of them are abit out of reach unless you have a deep pockets with high spending power.
Personally, I like to travel a little further and would be selective in my Asia travels. But this year will be different. Our family is planning to take several trips around Asia since they are more affordable. Besides we can’t be taking long trips due to our busy work schedules. Hubby will be off to Myanmar with a few church members and he’s been reminded to bring a fan for the trip! I told him he’d better bring his acne face wash since he might be staying up late and traveling offroad quite a fair bit. I know very little about Myanmar besides watching a few videos on the democracy protests in youtube.com
Who knows, I might decide to pay a visit to Myanmar and record the local cultures with photography.
After searching around for Bali villas in the past couple of weeks, I have deduced that it won’t be possible to find cheap accommodation rates if I want to experience the real Balinese experience in a nice villa.
Well, there is Uma Sapna which goes for $150 a night, which is a pretty good deal for a good size villa. The reviews in Trip Advisor assures me that it’s a good place to stay. Nice space, beautiful layout and settings and affordable. Then I was lured by the nice touches of Ulin Villas and Spa and thought I could afford to splurge a little. While I was reading apidexin reviews on the website, I received an email from the villa. They are offering a nice package with some perks at almost $300 a night. But what I like about it is that there is no additional charges such as high season surcharge or the 21% government tax, which I thought is hefty.
But I suppose I would not complain since I have opted for a little luxury. You can find that with cheap accommodation rates cos everything comes with a price. So I’m really looking forward to good massages, privacy at the pool and a nice, relaxing time in the luxury villa.
I used to hear stories about Bali weddings and how many wedding couples flock to this beautiful island to tie the knot. I didn’t understand why and wonder if it’s just another vacation destination that offer best accommodation deals that lure tourists.
But after a few weeks search on bali villas and accommodation, I am totally impressed by Bali and what the island offers. Other than being a close to perfect wedding destination that is romantic and serene, it is a great place to hide away, take it slow and enjoy a nice break. I have to admit that the villa stay doesn’t come cheap but they are beautiful. I took time to read the reviews at tripadvisor and many travelers had wonderful travel experiences in Bali. My impression of Bali has been dated and it’s changing rapidly as I read more reviews.
Organizing a wedding in bali is more than just getting the perfect wedding napkins and favors. It allows a close gathering of family and friends as they enjoy the natural beauty of the culture, the sights and people.
Now I can’t wait to see Bali for myself and experience what other travelers are seeing and savouring. Most of all, I will soon understand why millions are flying to Bali for week long vacations with families and friends. One thing for sure, it’s not about the best accommodation deals they are getting!
I’ve heard much about a nice beach holiday in Bali and some of friends are recommending that the best accommodation deals can be a nice luxury bali that is near the waterfront!
Imagine waking up to a sumptuous breakfast by a resident chef and savouring all the home cooked dishes. While there may not have a full fledged gym with all the fitness equipment, you can always go for a massage by a good therapist in Bali. I heard that massage is fabulous and affordable there!
But staying in a luxury Bali villa accommodation would be nice if you have a group of friends so that you won’t be that lonely when the night grows near.
A friend of mine was asking if I know of any cheap accommodation rates to Bali as she is planning to travel there to buy some furniture for her new home. After my conversation with her, I found out that many people have gone to Bali to shop for teak furniture and decoratives as the prices are attractive especially if you are paying in rupees!
I have been to Bali once and besides the beaches and good local food, I like the craftmanship of the wooden furniture. Many of them are hand carved by locals and these artisans take great pain to finish off a piece of good furniture. Their outdoor furniture is particularly popular as they are often made of solid wood and withstand the stress of extreme temperatures for any climate. Teak wood is popular in Bali but you should shop around and compare prices for the best deals.
When traveling to Bali, shopping for cheap accommodation rates isn’t hard at all as there are many choices for every traveler. SearchYourHotel allows you to compare hotel rates at one glance so that you don’t pay extra for any choice of accommodation.
In August, I plan to take my mom for a short vacation to celebrate her 51st birthday. Well in actual fact, I have never traveled with my mom and I know that she isn’t a very easy person to travel with! Nevertheless, I still want to take her for a trip before my move and so, I’ve been searching around for cheap accommodation rates in Taiwan.
My mom isn’t an adventurous person so I think Taiwan will be good for her. Language wise, she would have no issues. Food wise, it should be fine too. Plus, Taipei can be a great place to shop and dine. I have to remind her to bring along her joint supplements during the trip as she’s been suffering from some knee pain. I miss the Shh iLin market in Taiwan – so much to see, buy and do! For those who adore Birkenstock shoes, the designs are up to date in Taipei and the prices in Shih Lin market is reasonable. I must also visit Lao Jie for the dried fruits cos they are so yummy!
I do hope that I can get some good and cheap accommodation rates in Taipei in August. But first, I need to check the weather for that month as it wouldn’t be nice to be there when it’s a typhoon season!
I met a friend in church this morning and learned that she would be visiting Hong Kong in July. She asked about what were some best accommodation deals in Hong Kong and where were the better places to stay during the trip.
Well, unlike many countries in Australia and New Zealand, most tourists or travelers do not need to book or rent a car. Public transport is so convenient in Hong Kong that you can get around very easily with the train system and buses. Trams are also a good way to get around in Hong Kong island. So you really don’t need to worry about renting a car with car insurance when you are visiting the Pearl of the Orient.
As for the better places to stay, you can search your hotel online and find the best accommodation deals. Hong Kong island offers lots of hotels and I personally like to hang around Causeway Bay and Wanchai. Party goers can check out Central which I feel is a little too business like for me. Kowloon island is a great place to stay too especially in tsimshatsui and mong kok area. Basically it’s easy to find an affordable hotel if you aren’t traveling during the peak seasons.
So if shopping is your first love, then Hong Kong is one place you must not leave out in 2010.
This morning, as I was staring at a photo taken during my trip to Kyoto in 2008, I found myself missing the beautiful autumn. Has it been that long that I visited Kyoto?
I can now understand why thousands of travelers flock to Kyoto during autumn, foreigners and locals. The leaves were golden and there was so much energy and life released from the vibrant colours of the maple leaves. They were simply awesome. I marvelled at the creation of the Almighty! The culture in Kyoto is rich with any traditional architecture echoing this beauty. Though I only spent a few days in Kyoto and Osaka, I had fond memories of this lovely city.
I have the habit of checking out travel and life insurance quote before my travel holiday. This is on top of those tedious search on best accommodation deals in the destination city I am planning to travel to. I have no plans for any vacation yet to date but I know it will be happening soon.
After another five days of traveling, I’m back home again. Once again, it’s a fabulous trip to Taiwan especially when our tour guide has managed to grab some best accommodation deals for our group.
Before the vacation, I told myself to travel light and pack as little as I can. Due to the current winter season, the wintry clothing took up more space in the luggage and I had no choice but to travel with a full luggage. Needless to say, I made sure that all my nutritional supplements were packed in smaller sealed plastics and brought all the personal essentials. I wasn’t planning to shop much in Taiwan so I didn’t bother bringing additional carry-all bag to store my purchases.
To my surprise, Taiwan is a great place for shopping and eating! I was surprised and impressed with the night markets and the apparel found in the market were of better quality than those in China. I bought a pair of Birkenstocks sandals and it was at least 30% cheaper than what I would get in Malaysia. I only wished I had more time in Taipei city! With the efficient transportation system, traveling around in Taipei is easy and convenient.
It’s Christmas eve today. I’m glad to be home celebrating Christmas with my family and here’s wishing everyone on vacation a blessed Christmas.
