A Vacation in Hanoi 0

Posted on September 22, 2010 by dorisch

Hanoi lies at the heart of the northern Red River Delta and somehow reflects an European feel. Especially the streets of the Old Quarter preserve age-old customs, where trade takes one back half a century, and temples, pagodas and monuments reflect the historic character of Vietnam. In this area there are many hotels which have been recently refurbished with a special care to the traditional architecture and design. Hanoi Hotels are surprisingly modest but preserve a unique charming environment.

This means that the city provides many services for tourists as nice boutique hotels, internet cafÈs and restaurants offering wide range of food. Do not forget that tourism has in general a bad influence in the way local people live, too often being responsible for changing their tastes, habits and underlining economic gaps and unequal access to resources. So forth, it is important each one of us makes a difference in the way we wish to live the city. In terms of shopping, Hanoi has much to shopping, from fine silk to artistic products to male enhancement cream.

Most tourists may indulge in mass tourist souvenirs. Sometimes, the best way to take home part of the spirit, is taking a good shot, or buying some spices, or typical things that a local person would buy. From a notebook, to a normal pen, or a traditional t-shirt or a votive candle or a dolly used by Hanoi girls. This will help much more the local community than anything else.

Another Trip to Vietnam Perhaps 0

For some strange reasons, I didn’t sleep too well during my recent vacation even though I had a nice room. I had two queen beds in the room which meant I didn’t need to share space with my boy. Yet, I woke up early in the morning with no apparent reason.

I wished I had the best eye cream for dark circles then cos my dark circles were so visible. Thankfully, I had a couple of soothing eye masks with me and I could calm my eyes for temporary relief. Moreover, the pollution from the city scooter and busy traffic were drying out my eyes too. The next time, I must equip myself with a better eye cream and more eye mask when I visit a busy city like Vietnam. Now I understand why many women tend to wear a scarf and hat when they are out and about. It’s to keep dust and the sun away! It was so hot and humid.

Though it is a busy city, I find that there is a simple charm to this place. If i get the chance, i would love to travel to the mountains and beach in a cooler season next time.

Best Accommodation Deals for Hanoi 0

I was happy about the best accommodation deals secured for our recent hanoi trip. Months before our vacation, I contacted the hotel and they offered me an attractive package with one night stay in halong bay.

After spending three nights in busy hanoi and one night in Halong Bay, we are back and it brought nice memories when I saw the photos this morning. I took the pleasure of soaking in the jacuzzi during my stay in both places and relaxed with a face mask every night. I purchased the best acne treatment that works before the trip and used it alongside my beauty skincare. I was glad to pamper my skin even in the midst of my busy travels.

Now that I have seen Hanoi, i would like to visit the mountains someday. I heard that it’s nice and when the time comes, I’ll make sure to book early to secure the best accommodation deals again.

Adventure Vacation for You? 0

A friend of mine who is an adventure is going on a camping trip this week. She is one of those who will not put on weight during her vacation and she’ll still enjoy her cheap accommodation rates during her travels.

She climbs mountains, goes trekking and does all kinds of water sports whenever possible and I can finally conclude that she’s a thrill seeker. She has no problems with finding ways to burn belly fat as all the activities she did during her travels would make her burn calories too. After all the adventures, she’ll go for a good massage from a local therapist and ease all the tension from her muscles. That for her is what a vacation is all about.

For me, a camping trip is nice but I prefer a more relaxing type of vacation where I can relax and enjoy simple pleasures of the sun. That’s life for me.

Adventure Holidays and Weight Loss 0

When you are on an adventure in your travels, it’s a time of exploration and new insights. We just came back from some short trips in Asia and we had walked so much in the last few weeks.

Some hotels not only provide best accommodation deals but they actually have gyms that allow you to exercise when you are traveling. This is a good way to burn belly fat during your travels and you can avoid putting on excess weight. If you are on an eating spree, you would find that it’s normal to put on a few kilos during your holidays.

So if you want to stay in shape during your holidays, eat in moderation and make sure you find time to exercise or be on the move, at least.

Visiting Hanoi 0

I’ve often heard friends telling me about Hanoi and their shopping sprees there and often want to see it for myself. So I’m glad I’ve finally have the chance to do so. Months ago, I managed to secure some best accommodation deals at Hanoi Elegance 5 and I’m excited about visiting Hanoi.

We arrived yesterday and did a one hour cycling tour. It was quite an eye opener for me as the traffic in Hanoi was very disorderly. It took us some time to know how to cross the busy roads as many of the motorists don’t follow the traffic rules. After a short walk around in Old Quarter, a place containing lots of streets where you can find all kinds of things, from floor register to stainless steel bird cages, I found it tiring to navigate through those busy scooters and cars. The air was polluted and my eyes was tired after a short while.

Well, I still have three more nights here and let’s hope things get better today. It sure will.

Best Accommodation Rates in Hong Kong 0

I believe in finding the best accommodation rates online but sometimes you need to know what you are getting when booking cheap or best deals.

I have been fortunate to get a good deal for our Hong Kong trip and was delighted to stay in a nice suite in Mira Hotel for a 3+1 deal. The entertainment centre in the room was great and my boy could watch his blu ray movies while I relaxed in the big tub. It was a relaxing trip despite having to look after three kids.

The next time when I travel to Hong Kong, I don’t mind staying at the Mira if I can get a similar good deal. Otherwise the rates may be too high in terms of value.

Toys During Our Travels 0

One of the things that my son looks forward to in all our family vacations is the hotel room and shopping for toys! As such, I often have to search for best accommodation deals while ensuring that the room space is good enough for him.

During our last trip to Bali, we couldn’t find a good toy shop for him and he was disappointed. In the end, we had to buy him a few DVDs to keep him smiling. But in Japan, this city is truly a toys haven for kids! You can find all kinds of toys for kids of all ages, including big adults! They are innovative, trendy and very unique indeed.

I promise him that I’ll get him a new toy in our Hong Kong trip next week. I’m sure he’ll be able to find something he likes in Sogo or Toy R Us.

Thoughts About Insurance 0

It takes me a few years before getting my first insurance policy. I mean, I used to think that insurance is a waste of money but not anymore! I believe it’s all about education and having a good agent to explain the benefits and details of why we need to be protected with a good coverage.

With the rise of technology, it isn’t hard to find out “What is life insurance?“. If you can’t get someone to explain to you, just search in the web and the answers will all be there. Better still, you can buy your life or travel insurance online these days. Travel insurance is something I won’t stinge on when I’m traveling overseas.

So it’s all up to an individual when it comes to belief and acceptance. Have an open mind and you will soon find out it’s good to hold up a policy.

Travel Insurance Is Essential 0

I’m one of those travelers who believe in getting a travel insurance before traveling.

Previously, I am never bothered with travel insurance but after hearing all the experiences from friends and family members, I realize the importance. Last year, I got rather ill during my trip and had to consult a doctor. I spent quite a lot of money at the doctors and if not for travel insurance, I would be paying through my nose. Travel insurance can also conver travel emergency and it grant you the peace of mind.

So for a little bit of money, I know that my family and myself are protected and covered and I believe every traveler should consider it as well.
