Vacation in Taipei with Mom 0

Posted on June 29, 2010 by dorisch

In the last few months, I’ve been planning on taking my mom for a vacation to Taipei in September but it’s been challenging getting her to agree to it. I took all the trouble to find the best accommodation rates and airfares but she’s still very negative with air travel.

Taipei is a great place for her as she can speak Mandarin. Moreover she’s never been there. When I was in Taipei a year ago, I enjoyed shopping in the night markets and my only regret was, I didn’t get myself a pair of affordable boots. Sports shoes are cheaper in Taipei and there is no lack in the variety of designs. I bought a pair of sports shoes for Clayton and a pair of Birkenstocks for myself.

Well, I am hoping to shop for some new shoes for my boy again and maybe, I’ll get myself another pair of these great German slippers. They can be addictive cos they are so comfortable to wear and walk with. But now, I would need to convince my mom to agree to the vacation before the ticket prices increase.

Vacations Coming Soon 0

I can’t wait for all my short getaways this year. It took me quite a while to search for cheap accommodation rates and finally, all bookings were done.

These days, hubby and myself will always travel with our laptop since we need to reply emails and follow up on our online business while we are on trips. There are pros and cons to working from home and this is one of them. We can work anywhere but we need to bring the laptop with us and make sure there is an internet connection. Maybe I should get one of those netbooks so that my luggage won’t be that heavy.

With summer knocking at our doors, more people will be traveling and I believe the air will be a busy place!

Island Escape and Cheap Accommodation Rates 0

I just received an email on some latest promotions on airfares and hotels from a travel site. With today’s online marketing and media, it’s good to receive notifications of cheap accommodation rates that can help us save on our travels.

It’s one more month before our island escape with a group of friends and this will be the first time that we are traveling with a big group. The children are going to have lots of fun and we adults will have ours too. Weeks ago, we were reading up reviews on Perhentian Island hotels since we’ve never been there. The forum and reviews are helpful for anyone heading to the island. This is especially so if you have never been to that destination.

My friend who is ardent in weight loss will be consuming only foods that burn fat and we will be feasting on the local delights. With the trip in plan, we need to buy some snorkeling masks for the kids and buy all the necessities to keep everyone happy. Unfortunately we couldn’t get cheap accommodation rates for Perhentian Islands due to a busy season but it’s still affordable since our airfare was so cheap. So it’s count down to our island escape and now I need to go search for hotels for our Taiwan trip!

Back from Singapore 0

I just got back from a short trip to Singapore and this is one of the more tiring trips I have had. There were so many errands to run throughout the trip and I didn’t have much time to do my regular shopping.

Whenever I’m in Singapore, I’m be in a shopping spree for vitamins and beauty products. I still find that it’s a good place to stock up my vitamins and I got hold of my supply of propolis and children’s natural cough remedies. I often purchase some multiple vitamins from the pharmacies when there is a sale and it makes it quite a good buy too. I’ll be back in six weeks for some personal matters so I’ll the opportunity to stock more.

For those who are heading Singapore, the great Singapore Sale is on and this is your chance to grab some good deals.

Traveling When Pregnant 0

Do you travel when you are expecting a baby? I recalled traveling to Bangkok when I was expecting my boy and at that time, I was busy with searching for the best accommodation deals for the trip that I was enjoying the excitement.

I personally think that it’s ok to travel if you are fit. The best thing is to consult your gynae first before making any travel plans. If your pregnancy is healthy and well, I don’t see why you can’t travel. Preferably, you should travel to a less strenuous place instead of taking any adventures that will threaten your fetus. Remember to bring your prenatal vitamins so that you can stay healthy throughout for yourself and your baby.

Besides, that bring your vitamins and supplements and whatever aids you need to keep your safe and well for the trip.

One way of spending quality time with your family is to travel together. It will make the family bond together and get closer to each other. There are a lot of things to do when you travel, you can go to different places, visit those kids friendly park, try new things and a lot more.

If your family is very athletic the best adventure is going outdoors in the wild! You can enjoy your vacation by camping in the woods; it releases stress from the work and also from the school. The change of scenery will also be good for the health. But before going to some strange mountains or camping site, you should know what to bring and what to do to ensure the safety of your family vacation. You can even bring some pre-packed food to explore diets that work during the adventure.

Family adventure in theme parks will not only be fun but will also be educational. There are theme parks that will give additional knowledge to the children. And if you and your children want to experience thrill and excitement, the best family adventure will be trying all the rides in the amusement parks.
