Book Early for Luxury Vacations 0

Posted on February 16, 2010 by dorisch

When you book a luxury travel vacation early, you have the first shot at getting the best cheap accommodation rates. From flights to hotels, this can really make or break the mood of your vacation, especially if it is a special occasion such as a honeymoon.

When you book early, you are also the first travelers to be granted requests such as a non-smoking room, king size bed, “roll aways” and such. Hotels and cruise lines will also go in order of booking date when they are offering free upgrades and extra amenities. And of course, if you have your heart set on a specific hotel, resort or cruise ship, the earlier you book, the better chance you have of getting to stay where you want. My cousin was planning to travel to another town for his bpi certification and had to book early to secure the best accommodation deals.

So if you are planning for a luxury vacation, start doing your search and secure the best and lowest rates.

Traveling and Securing Cheap Accommodation Rates 0

When planning your trip, book as far in advance as possible in you want to secure cheap accommodation rates. Economy seats on desirable flights sell out fast, especially during peak seasons and the best way to save is to catch it during the promotion.

Airfare specials are often offered in spring and fall, making flying much more economical. Students or a seniors should inquire for special rates. Airlines give student discounts, and seniors may be able to get a good deal on airfare from the AARP. If you belong to a club or service organization, ask if they are affiliated with any airlines or have a discount travel program.

If you are travelling in a large group and are contemplating using individual cars or a long bus ride, check the cost of charter aircraft. Sometimes it is cheaper to reserve an entire plane than buy individual tickets. It’s a lot more pleasant to take a short plane trip together than sit for an entire day stuffed together in a vehicle. That’s what we did when we took a trip to view some Seattle homes for sale.

Last but not least, consider how much time you will save by flying. If you only have a week or two for your vacation, driving may cut into your free time significantly. It’s tiring, too, and you may need a day or two to recuperate after a day of driving. It may be worth a bit of extra money to save a lot of aggravation.

Airfares out of large airports can be more expensive than out of smaller municipal airports, so if you are travelling to a large city, check smaller airports nearby. The trip may be much cheaper with only a small detour. Be sure to consider cab fare or rental car rates to get to final destination.

Best Accommodation Deals in Luxury Hotels 0

Many luxury hotels are perfectly situated in areas of high interest for the vacation traveler. When seeking a hotel for vacation purposes (rather than business, for example), determine the location and nearby attractions. Many hotels offer an array of best accommodation deals, such as those included in resort settings or combined with a city’s downtown entertainment.

When traveling with children, it’s important to determine ahead of time a hotel’s policy for young travelers. Some do not allow children under a certain age, while some luxury hotels cater to families. Many offer childcare and children’s clubs, so the parents can get a few hours away while the kids enjoy learning something new such as archery or rock climbing. Some are even equipped with ps3 in the kids clubs.

For those seeking a vacation experience, it is also wise to find out if there are any conventions or other large events taking place while you are there. Hotels located in areas where multiple activities take place (such as in a city as opposed to a resort) are more likely to be busy, so find out ahead of time. This won’t guarantee that something won’t be booked, but you can lower your chances of booking your stay during a large event. Also, find out if any large tour groups are scheduled for the same time.
