Missing the Beautiful Autumn of Kyoto 0

Posted on January 27, 2010 by dorisch

This morning, as I was staring at a photo taken during my trip to Kyoto in 2008, I found myself missing the beautiful autumn. Has it been that long that I visited Kyoto?

I can now understand why thousands of travelers flock to Kyoto during autumn, foreigners and locals. The leaves were golden and there was so much energy and life released from the vibrant colours of the maple leaves. They were simply awesome. I marvelled at the creation of the Almighty! The culture in Kyoto is rich with any traditional architecture echoing this beauty. Though I only spent a few days in Kyoto and Osaka, I had fond memories of this lovely city.

I have the habit of checking out travel and life insurance quote before my travel holiday. This is on top of those tedious search on best accommodation deals in the destination city I am planning to travel to. I have no plans for any vacation yet to date but I know it will be happening soon.

Best Accommodation Deals for Our Girlie Trip 0

Posted on January 22, 2010 by dorisch

Since the start of this new year, I have been receiving notifications of airfare deals for the year. With the economy picking up, more people are keen to travel and airlines are capitalizing on this surge.

I’m hoping to do a girlie trip with a few girl friends this year. They are counting on me for locating the best accommodation deals and itinerary planning. Since all of them hold jobs in administration, they are too busy with their day jobs that they have said that they won’t have time to do any planning. Traveling with a few girl friends can be fun as we can get to do the things we like without worrying about feeding the kids, pleasing our hubbies and coming home early. I know there’s going to be lots of fun and laughter throughout the trip!

I believe the best accommodation deals are normally secured when booking is done earlier, preferably months before the travel date. Another way to save would be to travel during the off peak season.

One of the things I missed in student’s life is the ability to travel without worrying about taking time off from work. When I was a students, I used to search cheap accommodation rates for my travel expeditions. In the past, there is no such thing as online university so there are many people who can fulfill their dreams to pursue a higher degree.

Thankfully, the online university industry today and since, more people are able to achieve their life’s goals and have advanced in their academic achievements. Online universities like Western Governor University offers online degree programs of various disciplines and because it’s a non-profit university, the fees are more affordable than other online unis. With online study, you can choose a subject of your interest, study at your own time without having to quit your job. This is important if you are a bread winner for your family. Technology has made it possible for many to advance in their careers and pursue higher learning.

Another advantage of online uni is that you would not need to travel which means your cost is lowered and you can do your study anywhere in the world. With the flexibility of time, this means you can still take time to have a vacation with your loved ones.

Best Accommodation Deals Before Pregnancy 0

This dear couple friend of mine are planning to travel next week to their dream destination. After learning that they are becoming parents soon, they quickly book their vacation and pick the best accommodation deals as they know that traveling will be shelved in a few months’ time when the baby arrives!

It looks like there will be less strenuous traveling since she’s expecting. She’ll also be bringing the best prenatal vitamins to ensure better health during her pregnancy. Light travels will be best but it seems that they are planning to buy some baby clothing in the fashion outlets in the US! What a more timely vacation – buying and shopping for the new baby!

All of us parents know that it’s hard to travel when we have little ones so if you are expecting or planning for a child, maybe you would want to start visiting all your dream destinations first if you can’t afford the wait.

What do you look for when you decide to take up the best accommodation deals for your holidays? Do you choose customer service over price or do you choose quality over location?

Well, some travelers will say they want all that satisfy – good location, cheap accommodation rates, good service and quality amenities. Some even prefer to stay only in accommodations that come with breakfast. For all inclusive vacations, foods and beverages are all to your free helping and that may be good for those who don’t want to incur any more costs. Then again, if you are fussy and would eat only foods that burn fat, then all inclusive may not be for you.

To each his own, all of us have different priorities and differences when it comes to choosing the best accommodation deals. Whatever pleases you, make sure you know what you are getting into so that you can avoid feeling shortchanged.

Great Vacations and Great Adventure 0

There are all kinds of great vacations that you can take when it comes to adventure travel and not all of them are filled with death defying stunts and danger. Sure, some of them are but if that is not your think then you don’t have to choose them.

Can you imagine taking a trip to some exotic locale and then experiencing some of their ways of life. Have you ever heard of Zorbing? It is something that they do in New Zealand, and it is so much fun. All you do is climb into a giant ball, it is like a great big beach ball, just climb in it and they roll you down the hill. There is usually some water in it to cushion any bumps that you might hit along the way down. The water is not dangerous to you and your breathing because it is kept totally separate from you in a different compartment of the ball. This is one of the most fun things that you could ever do when you are gong to adventure travel and it is not even a little bit dangerous. I don’t know if I would ever do this but I know I won’t need my natural sleeping pills after taking that adventure.

Everyone has a different comfort level and adventure travel just means taking a trip that is exciting, one that is a little out of your normal travel behavior. You don’t have to go and climb Mount Everest or anything like that to have a good time with adventure travel.

Going On a Camping Trip 0

When I was a kid, I recalled looking forward to any camping trip organized by the school. Looking back, I can’t even remember when was the last time I went on a camping trip.

Taking children for camping for the first time can be a daunting task, if you’re not well prepared. But a well prepared camping trip with your children can be great fun for everyone in the family. First of all, choose an easily accessible location. You may want to choose a camping spot that is accessible by vehicle if your kids are relatively young. If you want to hike in to the camping spot, keep the distance pretty short. Also, remember that younger kids may not be able to carry all of their gear and food in, so you’ll end up with one very heavy pack if you’re not careful.

Actually I’m not even sure if I would want to go for a camping trip in the near future. I can’t imagine how my packing will be – blackhead extractor, my sleeping pillow, beauty mask…. oops, I don’t think they should even be brought to a camping trip. Looks like a vacation in a luxury hotel is what’s more preferred right now!

Getting Best Accommodation Deals Online 0

When you begin planning a vacation, one of the most important steps is to get the best accommodation deals for your stay. After you have made your arrangements to take off work and get to your destination, you would need to plan your vacation budget and decide on where you wanna to stay. There are many ways to book your hotels, including buying a vacation package through a travel agent. However, more travelers are choosing online internet booking over going through a travel agent.

Rather getting someone to book your flights and hotels, online travel websites make it easy to compare normal hotels, research locations and check on availability. Most hotels have their own websites such as hotel reservation new york where you can enter your needed dates and get a quote for your stay. You do not have to enter credit card information to research rates at most hotels, so it makes do-it-yourself comparison shopping convenient for anyone with an internet connection. Some hotels even post layouts of their buildings, so you can choose exactly which room you want, rather than taking a chance on being right next to a pool full of screaming children when you are trying to get some much-needed rest and relaxation.

Cheap Accommodation Rates Come With a Price 0

Posted on January 12, 2010 by dorisch

These days, people can get really fussy when it comes to choosing the best accommodation deals. Just when you think the rates are low and travelers should take it easy with facilities and demands, they are still expecting value for what they paid for.

While waiting to check into a hotel some years back, I recalled a lady complaining about the hotel lobby. It wasn’t a five star hotel but a decent three star and she was complaining about the chip off on the stainless steel tile and the peel-off paint on the furniture. I thought she was being too fussy!

Cheap accommodation rates are easily available when travelers holiday during off peak seasons. But sometimes the best accommodation deals can mean lesser expectations on the interiors and room furnishings. If you lower your expectations, you avoid feeling disappointed and focus on the essence of the vacation. But with online booking, you can always check out the hotel first before placing your reservations. If in doubt, always drop an email to the hotel or find out more about what you are paying for.

Time to Look For Cheap Accommodation Rates 0

It’s a new year and from what I read, travel will increase globally this year with the improvement on the economy.

When I was in Australia few years ago, I seemed to have a problem with the water in some of the country destinations. There are lots of cheap accommodation rates in some of these country destinations during off peak season but should I stay there again, I would need to bring some water softener next time. The problem was, I got sensitive with the water quality and fell sick during the vacation – it wasn’t pleasant at all.

This year, I hope to visit more destinations down under. Outdoor activities have always been top in my travel list but I would need to be better equipped next time. I believe it’s timely to search for best accommodation deals or cheap accommodation rates as it’s still early in the year. Where are you planning to travel this year?
