Saving on Flights On Hard Times 0

Posted on July 27, 2009 by dorisch

Everyone wants to save money on travel and if that’s you, you can think about saving money on flights. Flights tend to be one of the most expensive parts of a vacation and so if you can save money on them you will be able to spend more money on other things that you enjoy. Look for last minute deals online as well as buying tickets from airlines such as Southwest Airlines or JetBlue Airlines, to name a couple.

Finally another way to have a fantastic vacation for under $1,000 is by going on a cruise. Now cruises used to be considered a luxury and you would not expect to find a cruise for less than $1,000 but it can be done. Some cruises from cruise liners such as Carnival Cruises, tend to have deals which vary in price from just $500. So shop around and see what you can find. Renting a car in your tour destination is a great way to know the city too but make sure the car comes with a reliable car insurance.

Overall it is easy to find cheap vacations to suit your needs; you just have to know where to look. Holiday deals are not always cheap and tacky, they can be really fun and if you go to somewhere like Disney you can really allow the whole family to have an excellent vacation. So when you are considering your next holiday, why not look out for cheap travel packages?

Thinking about Honeymoons 0

Posted on July 27, 2009 by dorisch

There are so many options when choosing what type of honeymoon to take. The most important thing is make sure that both wife and husband agree on a place to go that they will both have a good time. If one person has a good time it wonít make a memorable honeymoon.

A tropical getaway can be the perfect honeymoon just relaxing in the sand and surf in a romantic setting. This is a great choice for a honeymoon as there is relaxing and generally many activities as well and can be in some of the most beautiful places in the world.

There is also the sportier honeymoon for the active couple as there are honeymoons where the focus can be on an activity, besides the romance of a new marriage. You can head to the slopes to catch some great skiing or hit the lake to water ski and partake in the many water activities available.

An exciting option for newly married couples can be a traveling honeymoon where the couple travels to somewhere they have never been before. European vacations are popular because some cities are very romantic such as Paris and Venice. For the more adventurous couple there are more active traveling honeymoons such as a safari in Africa or heading to Brazil to see Carnival. I know of a Plano Cosmetic Dentist friend who did this and had a great deal of fun!

If you want a little lady luck on your side from the beginning of the marriage than Las Vegas can be a great destination for a honeymoon. There is great food, relaxing by the pool, and lots of activities, shows, and not to mention the gambling, all intertwined in a Las Vegas honeymoon.

Stay Bed and Breakfast for Cheap Accommodation Rates 0

Traveling for business or vacationing always has one thing in common; you need a place to stay. Unfortunately, many individuals choose large hotel chains which have no personality and do nothing more than provide a place to sleep for their guests. However, when business and vacation travelers choose to stay at a Bed and Breakfast they are able to enjoy their trip even more simply because Bed and Breakfast inns focus on each individual guest. In fact, there are several benefits a Bed and Breakfast has over regular hotels other than the fact that you can get cheap accommodation rates in some places.

Many bed and breakfasts are typically small and have a limited number of rooms to rent out. They are usually family run business. However, each room has a lot of personality and is generally decorated around a theme and focuses on the comfort of guests. I called staying in one of them when we attended a baby announcements party in New Zealand. Each room is usually decorated in an elegant at-home way that is easily enjoyed by guests who want comfortable and beautiful surroundings to enjoy while on their trip. You certainly won’t encounter the generic rooms of common hotels. All in all, when you stay at a Bed and Breakfast you will feel at home.

How about Boutique Hotels? 0

Not sure if you take notice but more and more people are choosing hip and boutique hotels for their vacation. Though they may not offer the best accommodation deals but discerning travelers like the exclusiveness these boutique hotels offer,

If you’re thinking about booking accommodation for your next vacation, or perhaps just a short city break, you may want to consider boutique hotels? When I go on holiday, where I stay is as important. I prefer to find a place where I’m comfortable and accessible to transport. My choice of accomodation an essential part of my holiday experience, so it’s surprising that most people don’t really pay much attention to the type of hotel they are going to be staying for the duration of their vacation. Package holidays use hotels that are virtually identical from one resort to the next. Normally, these bedrooms look the same, bathrooms have standard fittings and to the staff, you are just another tourist. Like to each his own, every has his own preferences.

You may want to get your health insurance or life insurance quote online if you are planning on long trips. But even for our family, we never fail to purchase our travel insurance no matter how short our vacation may be. You just never know, do you? Better be a prepared traveler.

Traveling with a Partner 0

Posted on July 04, 2009 by dorisch

Why do people need to go on vacations? Sometimes, we are so tired after a long period of routines that vacations and travelling is a thing that helps keep us sane. That’s the reason why companies and bosses force employees to go on leave. It sure makes a lot of sense to take breaks. Sometimes, it can be hard finding a traveling partner.

If you are on your own, traveling with a friend or looking for a travel companion, a few tips might help you from having a lousy trip. Here are some tips when traveling with a partner:

• Decide upfront the objectives of the trip and what you want to get out of it.

• Money has the potential of destroying the best of friendships so be very careful. It’s best to decide what, where, and how much you will be spending on mutual expenses such as accommodation, food and transport. Make sure you share the same opinions.

• It is necessary to prepare an itinerary. You both should decide which places you want to visit, things to do and time to be spent at each location. If possible, compare hotels and find the best accommodation deals together.

• Respect each other’s opinions during the planning stage. It is better to agree who should bring what if you are sharing anything. Otherwise, each should be responsible for his/her own belongings. Don’t expect your partner to bring your weightloss pills or personal items for you. You should be responsible for your own things.

Last but not least, tell each other that whatever happens, you must purpose to have a good holiday.

Hoping for Cheaper Accommodation Rates in Japan 0

Posted on July 04, 2009 by dorisch

During my vacation to Japan last year, I was impressed by the culture and diversity among the Japanese. This is one busy city that is full of life and I can never get bored a single minute. But it was seriously hard to get cheap accommodation rates unless you planned to stay in hostel and shared accommodation. But when traveling as a family with children, this could be a real challenge.

For the shopper, there is much to behold and enjoy. You can find from luxury labels to quirky stuff. The Japanese appreciates details and the fine things of life. Green shopping seemed to be the ‘in thing’ in many countries and Japan is not excluded. Navigating around the train stations was probably the most interesting challenge but it was fun.

The only thing I’m hoping for is that there are cheaper accommodation rates in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto the next time I plan my visit. This would mean I could have more for my shopping expenses and be too conscious on what I spent on!

Shopping In Hong Kong and Finding Best Accommodation Deals 0

Posted on July 03, 2009 by dorisch

I’ve been checking for cheap airfares and best accommodation deals for Hong Kong. A few friends are heading for this shopping city end of the year and I’m hoping that I can bring my son to Hong Kong Disneyland too.

Hong Kong is one of the greatest shopping centers of the world. Due to its status as a free port, tourists traveling to China and Hong Kong can find the best deals anywhere in the world. Hong Kong hosts a lot of different items from all over the world. For me, Nathan Road in Kowloon is a popular Hong Kong shopping street that is known for its various boutiques that are popular to night shoppers. In The Nathan Road, your most valuable asset is your money and your ability to haggle. If you win, you can find the greatest deals. But if you lose, you will find yourself with overpriced pieces. In this street, the haggling is part of the shopping experience that is hard to replace.

What I missed last year was the Stanley Market, which is also known for the excitement and local charm. Home to the best Chinese artworks and souvenirs, you can find lots of Mao items that you can take home. This experience is literally a drive to the jungle. If haggling is the unique experience in Nathan, then the journey is the featured experience here.

Best to the best accommodation deals in Hong Kong, you can search hotels and compare prices first before making any reservation. For me, I’m hoping to find a nice hotel with good exercise equipment so that I can work out to shed those pounds during our vacation.
