Traveling isnt’ cheap these days 0

Posted on May 23, 2009 by dorisch

Traveling is no longer cheap these days even if you are willing to settle for cheap accommodation rates like staying in a motel room or hostel.

A friend of mine, a Pleasanton motorcycle accident attorney had just returned from his Bangkok trip and was sharing about the wonderful travel experiences he had. Cheap food, affordable accommodation and good shopping are words he used to describe his trip. Though everything seemed so affordable for him, he still had to spend a fair bit in total. Traveling can be costly when you add up the air fare, expenses, accommodation…etc.

I’m thinking about making a trip to Hokkaido for our anniversary next year. Though it is still a year away, I am checking on travel prices before deciding if this is a feasible plan for our family. To those who still need to go ahead with travel plans during these perilous times, do your research and your savings can be significant with careful planning.

Boutique hotels and technology 0

Posted on May 16, 2009 by dorisch

No matter what sort of good accommodation deals travelers are choosing, hotel guests are starting to demand the very latest in technology, from televisions to internet access. Boutique hotels get ahead of the game by integrating technology into their design.

Today’s technology is moving so fast, and hotels of all types have to anticipate the technology that will make their guests’ lives easier during their stay. As consumer technology becomes more affordable, guests are no longer terribly impressed by flat-screen televisions, integrated CD players and films on-demand; they can have that at home. What does impress them is when the technology improves the service, which in turn improves their experience. These are the things they will look for when they compare hotels. Some boutique accommodations even provide wellness programs including yoga and weight management so you can leave your ephedra product at home while vacationing!

Futuristic hotels have been the subject of many treatments in film, television dramas and books. In most cases, these hotels have a clinical look and feel to them, which is not at all what today’s guest wants to experience. They want the comfort, style and design of a great hotel, with the convenience that technology affords them. Forward-looking hotels of all types have recognised this and have begun to install technology systems that allow them to provide higher levels of service to guests.

Like it or not, today’s savvy travelers are choosing accommodation deals with technology in mind.

All Inclusive Vacation Presents Good Accomodation Deals 0

After my leisure trip to Phuket, I find myself needing another vacation! Though this suggestion is not going to go very well with my hubby, I’m hoping that he’ll feel the same way as I do! Surely if I can find good accomodation deals to my travel destination, he may give a nod and say ‘yes’!

There are surely ways to save if you plan to travel during these tough times. I stumbled upon some all inclusive  travel promotions at ClubMed and they are attractive. Apparently, ClubMed holidays are giving 50% discount to the second adult for few of their destinations including ClubMed Cherating, Bali Club Med, Club Med Bintan, ClubMed Phuket and even ClubMed Kani Maldives.

I kinda fell in love with the clear waters of Maldives via the photos in the website. I can picture myself having an indulgence of relaxation, something even the best wrinkle cream cannot do for my face. When we are totally relaxed, it will show up in our skin.

A vacation to Maldives will sure be in my list and what I like about clubmed is that, I have someone doing the babysitting and he won’t be bored with all the all inclusive activities planned for kids! An all inclusive vacation does present great accomodation deals if you are traveling on a budget. So this makes travel possible when times are bad.

Best Accommodation Deal: Getting the best out of it 0

Posted on May 11, 2009 by dorisch

There are many things to consider when choosing your best accommodation deals. Your decision could make your trip fun or a disappointment. Choosing the right accommodation is important. Most travelers spend more time in airline ticket reservations and bargains but less time in choosing the right accommodations. Thus they may end up on the wrong location during their stay.

To get the most out of your hotel accommodations, remember to book as early as possible and make your dates more flexible. Hotels that specialize for business people will consider weekends as off season. Family vacationers could tap into these special packages during weekends. Primarily, you should choose your hotel based on name, amenities, features, price, packages and location.

Here are some considerations in choosing your best travel accommodations:

1. Accommodations should be family-friendly. Always ask if your hotel offers children activity areas with educational and fun activities supervised by duly-trained care-givers.

2. Your hotel should provide a swimming pool for children, daycare service, crib rental and child-proof electrical outlets.

3. Stay in a hotel that has electronic room-key cards and has a security viewer installed on their doors.

4. Make it a priority to choose a room on the upper floor.

5. If you’re the one who likes to spend more time in your hotel room and the balcony, you should ask for the available amenities and the conditions of the surrounding environment.

6. Depending on whether you’re on a private or business trip, ask your hotel about the availability of laundry service, hair dryers, coffee makers, newspapers, free meals, fax machine, bar, cable television, parking, shuttle service, internet connection, etc.

7. The hotel property layout and its location may speak more of its surrounding environment. Noisy locations such as construction on adjacent property, car traffic and noisy waterfalls are not specified on hotel flyers. So be sure to ask about it.

8. Beautifully landscaped surroundings with trees, flowers and inner courts also enhance your travel pleasure. Moreover, gift shops and restaurants all add up to a wonderful travel experience.

9. The location of your hotel with respect to main attraction is equally important. It could save you money on taxi and bus fare.

10. Make sure that the room service is provided 24 hours a day.

11. Check out the room itself. Is it brightly colored or classical? It sets the mood of your travel.

In order to get the most out of your travel, whether for business or family vacations, be sure to know everything about the hotel you are planning to check in to. Ask friends and relatives who have been there. Don’t just depend on the hotel’s best accommodation deals which is undoubtedly biased. Make sure you remember to pack all your stuff and even your weight loss pills if you are on a gourmet tour! Having to stay in a hotel which you don’t like could ruin your trip.

From Sunday onwards, I would be enjoying the beaches, sun, fun and good food with my group of cool friends in Phuket! This is one island where cheap accommodation rates is widely available especially if you are not traveling in peak season.

After much research, I have booked the group with Phuket Sail Tours for our island excursion. This is going to be exciting as we will be booking a private charter for the group. Sailing in the Songkai, exploring the hongs and caves will be part of the itinerary, not forgetting the yummy good food!

I better remind hubby to bring along his colon cleansing supplement since we will be indulging in the local delicacies in the island. Our driver will be taking us around and it’s going to be a real adventure for us all.
