travel tales with a toddler
children, family travel, travel tips January 5th, 2008
We are finally home after being away for almost a month. This is one of the best trips we had and looking back, I am thankful that our 3 year old has been a reasonably good traveler. If you are familiar with traveling with a toddler, you know that nothing is perfect and you must expect melt-downs, cranky moments, stressful situations…etc. But with a little planning and patience, these negative responses can be minimized.
We did so much and one thing I learned from this vacation was, it was important to prepare well in advance in all outings. You can also expect the unexpected with a toddler, especially he is not potty-trained. Getting ready their favourite foods seem an effective way to keep them happy so do choose your foods carefully. I’m not a fan of junk and fatty foods for children. Our cousin had a beautiful SUV with the newest billet grilles fixed during our vacation and it was a little challenging to keep Clayton on his booster at times. He was always wanting to meddle around with the knobs and buttons on the interiors - boys are boys!
I’ll be writing a post on getting ready when traveling with a toddler for the benefits of those who are new to moving around with an active one.
